Brofessio
Professionalization in the manufacturing sector (Brofessio)
In the project, competence requirements for employees at the middle qualification level were worked out and suitable media-supported work and learning projects were developed and tested. These learning opportunities are intended to improve career opportunities even without a university degree. In its sub-project, Sustainum developed offerings that are designed to meet different learning requirements.
Background
In highly technical production processes, employees are increasingly confronted with imponderables and complex situations. Younger as well as older skilled workers are often not sufficiently prepared for these challenges and companies signalize an urgent need for action. The Brofessio network ties in with the visions of the fourth industrial revolution: Existing work processes are analyzed and assessed with regard to their medium- to long-term use of technology.
On this basis, the Brofessio joint project identified the competence requirements for employees at the middle qualification level and developed and tested media-supported work and learning projects as part of company competence management.

Project results
The association has developed continuing education formats that have a scientific level and are at the same time company and work process related. The aim was to improve the promotion and employment opportunities of specialists at the intermediate qualification level, even without a university degree. In this way, the competitiveness and innovative ability of the participating companies was also promoted in the long term.
In cooperation with the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, Sustainum developed learning opportunities that are geared to the individual potential, prior knowledge and interests of the respective employees and meet the requirements of mixed-age learning in general as well as the different learning requirements and strategies with regard to digital media in particular.
